FAQ - Troubleshooting:

  1. Why color quality of the printing is diminished?

  2. A diminished color quality is caused by empty or near empty ink cartridge.
For example when a black image is printed, MantraJet is using both black and color cartridges.
When only a black cartridge is replaced during high volume of black color prints, quality will diminish when a color cartridge is empty or near empty.
    • Replace both, color and black, genuine HP ink cartridges at the same time.
    • Visually inspect an ink cartridge cradle (on the right side where partridges are resting) for ink buildup. If a cradle is full of ink it's possible that cartridges are not cleaned properly
    • Clean off ink reside of a decoder strip with a damp paper towel. Printer's internal components might be covered with ink residue. Inspect horizontal decoder strip located along a print cartridge carrier. A decoder strip is a clear plastic with a tiny vertical lines. This decoder strip guides printer head.
  3. Why does the loading mechanism occasionally loads more than one disc?

  4. Printer errors out (flashing "arrow down" button) because the first dropped disc failed to slide flat on the tray.
Once an operator clears an error by pressing the flashing "arrow down" button, the loading mechanism drops a second disc on top of the first disc.
    • Raise the back of a printer about 0.5 inches, this will help discs to drop flat on the tray.
    • Clear off any ink residue of the disc slider and the tray.
    • Use different kind of media and observe if problem migrates.
    • Apply a small amount of liquid Teflon on a disc slider and a tray.
